We’ve boiled the ‘Read This’ section down to the essentials, but as you’ve already figured out, there is a lot to know. Step 5 is all about maximizing your opportunities. You’ve spent a long time being patient and waiting until you were ready to seek exposure, and now it’s time to show coaches what you’ve got. Remember, the resources in this section come from college coaches and college players, so you’ll want to read carefully.
In addition to the articles in ‘Read This’, you’ll want to start thoroughly researching the schools that express interest and think about what you will do if you hear from new or unknown programs. In the early stages, it’s helpful to reach out and consider lots of schools. Think about what questions you want answered and begin to prepare for more serious discussions with college coaches.
