- Make sure you are completely ready for contact with college coaches
- Make sure you are contacting coaches at the right time and the right way
- Continue to learn about how coaches are evaluating you and what they want to see from recruits
- Maintain a focus on development, even as you begin to seek exposure opportunities
And much more!
It’s important to remember how hard you have worked to get to this point and how much hard work lies ahead. Don’t let your excitement or disappointment get the best of you. No matter what happens, be thorough and pay attention to details in your communications with coaches. It is worth it to take the extra time to have someone read over an important email before you send it and make sure you are putting your best foot forward. At this point in the recruiting process, it’s easy to get frustrated when coaches don’t respond or even tell you that they are not interested. Stay with your process and don’t get discouraged. There are many reasons why it doesn’t work out at certain programs and seeking out the “no” from coaches can be just as helpful as finding programs that are interested. As we discuss in this article, each interaction is moving you closer to finding your program. Keep working hard, your college baseball fit is out there!
